On July 1, 1983, the Emerson family sold the business to local Funeral Home owner Dwayne Spence of Canal Winchester, who formed a partnership with Don & Judy Warehime, natives of Gallia County. Sometime later this partnership dissolved and Don & Judy became the sole owners. They continued the firm’s reputation for the highest quality in personal service and professionalism. They operated the firm for 16 years.
In 1999, The Warehime’s decided that they wanted to slow down the pace of their life and decided after much thought to sell the firm to the local Henderson VanAtta Johnston Funeral Home in Newark and Heath, Ohio. Don & Judy Warehime continued to live at the funeral home and manage it for the next several years.
The Henderson VanAtta Firm ran the business from 1999-2006, when the firm was sold to Gratiot native, Richard S. Hoskinson.
