Judith Ann Boggs

July 1, 1955 — July 30, 2023

Judith Ann “Judy” Boggs, age 68, of Newark, passed away on Sunday, July 30, 2023 at her home. Judy was born July 1, 1955 in Newark, Ohio to the late Donald Thomas and Barbara Jean (Pettibone) Worth.

From the moment she was born, Judy always tried to make people happy. Her siblings remember her as someone who would sing to them at bedtime and try to take care of them as best she could. In 1973 she graduated from Newark High School and started working at Dagwood’s as a short order cook. In 1981 she married Albert Boggs who came with grown children of his own and she always had love for them. She was always meant to be a mother and a daughter, Amelia, was born in 1988.

Judy was an amazing mother. She spent her life taking care of her family. She was always the person you could call when you were in trouble and she usually answered. Whether it was a ride, $20, or if you just needed someone to talk to, she was always there. She threw amazing parties, complete with light shows in the trees and a DJ, just to get people together. Bringing people together is what really made her happy. She was always a very gentle soul. Judy loved to take long car rides and listen to John Denver, the Eagles, and the Carpenters. She had lifelong friendships, some of them going all the way back to 6th grade. Judy was a very crafty person and loved to draw, make boxes, as well as other crafts. She especially loved to go to visit friends in Muskingum County and sit by the river.

She is survived by four children, Jacqueline Boggs of Newark, Michelle Wolf of New Jersey, Richard Boggs of Langhorne, Pennsylvania, and Amelia (Rodney) Piper of Newark; grandchildren, Rhiannon Stowman and Danielle Stowman; great-granddaughter, Gracelynne Cherry; sisters, Donna Snedden, Kathleen Worth and Sharon McCallister (Anthony Burris), all of Newark; many nieces and nephew; and boyfriend, Larry Aten of Newark.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 32 years, Albert Powell Boggs, who died in 2011; two grandchildren, Joshua Wolf and Priscilla Piper; brother-in-law, Chuck Snedden; and a sister, Brenda Meckley; and a brother, William Worth.
