A memorial service celebrating the life of Mary Lou Teasdale, age 83, of Granville, formerly of Lenawee County, Michigan, will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 28, at Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral Home with Pastor Joyce Harris officiating. The service will be livestreamed on the Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral Home Facebook page. At the request of the family, masks must be worn inside the funeral home and please practice social distancing.
Friends may call from 5-6 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home, 179 Granville Street in Newark.
Mary Lou passed away on Thursday, December 16, 2021 at the Selma Markowitz Care Center (operated by Hospice of Central Ohio). She was born July 8, 1938 in Shawnee, Ohio to the late Harold Francis Weekly, Sr. and the late Goldie Marie (Laughery) Weekly.
Mary Lou was a 1956 graduate of Hebron High School. She was a pioneer and didn’t even know it as she was the first female on the boys Little League team in Hebron in 1950. She also played fast-pitch softball. Mary Lou married Frank Teasdale in Ann Arbor, Michigan, on April 21, 1973. She retired from DST in Romulus, Michigan, where she had been a payroll and benefits administrator for many years.
Mary Lou was an avid bowler, golfer, and OSU Buckeyes fan. She enjoyed traveling, going to the casino, and loved playing cards with her family. She wintered for many years in Fort Myers, Largo and West Pasco, Florida.
She is survived by three children, Joni E. (James) Gaida of Cortland, Ohio, Robert F. (Cindy) Teasdale of Port Richey, Florida, and Sara Anne Walker of Cortland; grandchildren, Jeff (Julie) Kapnick of Whitmore Lake, Adrienne Begdouri, Katy (Danny) Hurlburt, and Joel Teasdale, all of Florida; great-grandchildren, Morgan, Zachary, Autumn and Rachel; sister, Shirley Smith of Heath; several nieces and nephews; and sister-in-law, Mary Jo Weekly of Newark.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Teasdale, on July 19, 2012; brothers and sisters-in-law, Paul (Lena Mae) Weekly, Harold Francis Weekly, Jr., and Jim (Martha) Weekly; sisters, Nel (Del) Caughenbaugh and Jean (Codge) Davis; and brother-in-law, C.R. “Dick” Smith.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Foundation for Hospice of Central Ohio or to the American Cancer Society.
