A funeral service, celebrating the life of Ada Mae Penick, 89, of Hebron, will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, October 6, 2015, in the chapel of the Kirkersville home of HOSKINSON Funeral and Cremation Service, with Pastor Brian Harkness as celebrant. Burial will follow in Kirkersville Cemetery.Ada Mae died late Friday evening, October 2, 2015, following a short illness. She was born February 28, 1926, in Westerville, the daughter of the late Oscar B and Emma (Eberhard) Hollis.She was an active member of the Hebron community, belonging to the Hebron New Life United Methodist Church, Eagon Chapter #123 Order of Eastern Star, and owned and operated her own Beauty Salon for 22 years at her home. She also assisted her family in their farming and Angus Cattle operations for many years. She enjoyed gardening, canning and playing cards, especially Euchre.She is survived by her loving family: children, Diana (Tom) Karbler, Jay (Pam) Penick, Ralph (Lois) Penick and Fred (Cindy) Penick; sister, Hazel Fritchen, 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law Faun Penick, Betty (Roland) McCullough, Polly (John) Allen; and numerous nieces and nephews.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Frederick Penick; and brother, Oscar L. Bud Hollis.Family will receive friends at the funeral home, 285 E. Main Street, Kirkersville, on Monday from 5:00-8:00 p.m. where OES Services will be held at 8:00 p.m.Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Ada Mae to Eagon Chapter #123 Order of Eastern Star.
