A visitation for Aiden Junior Caplinger, 14, of Thurston, will be held from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 17, 2023 in the chapel of the Thornville home of HOSKINSON Funeral and Cremation Service, 56 South Main St. in Thornville, where a funeral service celebrating his life will follow at 6 p.m. Aiden passed away on Saturday, August 12, 2023 at Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus, following a life long struggle with multiple handicaps and medical fragility. He was born in Columbus on September 3, 2008, the son of Max and Yvette (Arriaga) Caplinger. Due to the severity of his condition, he was never able to attend school. Aiden loved watching colored lights and scooting, especially around the Christmas Tree! He adored Mickey Mouse. He is survived by his loving family: in addition to his parents, his brother Austin Caplinger; his maternal grandparents Gina Astacio and Nicholas Arriaga, Jr.; his paternal step grandfather Chet Reid; his uncles Anthony, “Nuni” and “Pito” Arriaga, Richie Caplinger; his god parents Gary and Deanna Yost; extended family and friends, along with a large following at Nationwide Children’s Hospital.
