Alan Eugene "Bud" Sheline, Md

Alan Eugene “Bud” Sheline, MD, passed away at his residence on March 26, 2021. He was born in Ft. Wayne, IN on May 26, 1933 to the late L. Herbert and Marie Amelia (Williams) Sheline. Dr. Sheline did his undergraduate work at Indiana University in three years and was a member of Beta Theta PI Fraternity. He earned his MD at Indiana University followed by a Fellowship at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan. Prior to retirement, Dr. Sheline practiced Internal Medicine/Cardiology for 39 years in Columbus, Ohio. He was an Associate Professor of The Ohio State University; practiced medicine at Central Ohio Medical Group; and Knightsbridge Cardiology. He was also on staff at Grant Medical Center; Riverside Methodist Hospital; Mt. Carmel Hospital; and St. Ann’s Hospital. Alan developed and dedicated the first Coronary Care Unit in Columbus, Ohio at Grant Hospital. After retiring, Alan and his wife moved to Hendersonville, NC and lived for over 18 years in Cummings Cove Golf & Country Club. He dearly loved living in that community where he found a large and close-knit circle of friends. He considered Cummings Cove his family away from family. Survivors include his loving wife of 34 years, Donna J. Sheline, whom he married July 4, 1986; sons, Douglas A. (Myra) Sheline, Robert E. Sheline and Daniel J. (Ruth) Sheline; sister, Rosalie Hurst; stepchildren, Galen M. (Kim) Hardesty and Diane C. Todd; grandchildren, Katie Sheline and Megan Sheline; nieces and nephew, Betsy (Scott) Hirschman, Jim (Maggie) Hurst and Amy (Tony) Snider. The family will have private services at a later date. In lieu of flowers, friends may wish to contribution to the Grove City Church of the Nazarene, 4770 Hoover Road, Grove City, Ohio 43123. Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral and Cremation Service is honored to care for Dr. Sheline and his family.
