Alfred L. Fleming

Alfred L. Fleming, age 92, formerly of Grindstone, PA, Winter Haven, FL and Pataskala, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 25, 2020. Alfred was born October 20, 1928 in Grindstone, Pennsylvania to the late Alfred L., Sr., and Harriet Edith (Boyer) Fleming.

Alfred was a proud veteran of World War II, serving in the Pacific Theater as a Navy Radioman. After returning home, he was employed by Bell Telephone Co. of Pennsylvania and retired as a Senior Engineer. He was a holder of seven patents. Alfred loved fishing, hunting and the outdoors. He was a devoted member of the Methodist Church and a will be missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by two sons, Ronald Fleming of Newark and Richard (Carol) Fleming of Pataskala; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Rita Ann (Long) Fleming; and by two brothers, Wayne and Jay Edward Fleming; and a sister, Phyllis Howarth.

An 11 a.m. service will be held on Saturday, December 5, 2020 at the Sylvan Heights Chapel, 603 North Gallatin Ave., Uniontown, PA 15401.
