Alice Nickerson

Alice Stiles Nickerson, formerly of Massachusetts and Michigan, died March 27, 2103, at the age of 102. She attended Wellesley College at the age of 16, and graduated from what is now the University of Massachusetts with a Bachelors and Masters degree in microbiology. She voted in 20 presidential elections, beginning with the election in 1932, and ending with the election of 2012. Her first car was a Hupmobile.She was preceded in death by Dr. Ralph Nickerson, her husband of 68 years, and her older daughter, Dr. Sue Nickerson Stidham. She is survived by her daughter, Dr. Nancy Nickerson Shontz and her son-in-law, Dr. John T. Shontz of Hebron, Ohio, grandsons Jeffrey of Hilliard, Ohio and Douglas of College Park Maryland, and two great-grandchildren.No services are planned, but individuals are encouraged to send a contribution in her honor to a college or university of their choice.HOSKINSON Funeral & Cremation Service, Kirkersville, is honored to care for the Nickerson family.
