A graveside funeral service celebrating the life of Alice Lee Perrin, age 103, of Newark, will be held on Wednesday, December 23 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at Cedar Hill Cemetery, with Rev. Reecior Puryear officiating. Due to the COVID-19, masks must be worn at the cemetery and please practice social distancing. Alice was born in West Minster, SC on March 16, 1917 to the late Gertrude Sitton. She went home to be with the Lord on December 13, 2020, while surrounded by her family. Alice was a devoted homemaker to her family. She was a member of the Church of God, Fire Baptized in Columbus and also the Calhoun Temple in Columbus. Alice was known as “Mother Perrin” to everyone that knew her. She enjoyed playing the piano and gospel music and was instrumental with starting many choirs in central Ohio. Alice was an avid reader of the Bible, was a prayer warrior and was on-fire for God. Survivors include her loving children, Elizabeth Weathington, Sandra Lee (William) Gilkes, Marianne McConnell and Samuel William Perrin; grandchildren, Tammy Ealy, Mark Weathington, Samuel Weathington, Sonya Carten, Mason Perrin, Lennice McConnell and Samuel Perrin III; one great grandchild, Saige; one great great grandchild, Isyla; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. In addition to her mother, she is preceded in death by a son, Robert Lee Perrin; grandson, William “Billy” Gilkes; and numerous brothers and sisters.
