Allen Stewart Barol, 68, of Newark, passed away at home with his wife, Geraldine, by his side on January 21, 2019. Allen achieved Eagle Scout status in 1967; the highest rank attainable in the Boy Scouts of America program. Prior to retirement, Allen worked in computer technician support. He was a member of the Licking County Computer Club and the Licking County Historical Society. He volunteered at the Licking County Library, Licking County Parks and Recreation, and the Friends of the Sullivan House. He was a World War II enthusiast and enjoyed sailing, photographing architecture, playing guitar and listening to music. Survivors include his loving wife, Geraldine F. Jacobs and one son, Adam Wolfson. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bernard and Shirley (Rosenblatt) Barol, a brother, Arthur Barol and sister, Nita Jane Goldstein. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Allen to the Licking County Library, Licking County YMCA, or a charity of your choice.
