A funeral service for Allen Edward Lowery will be held on Saturday, January 11, 2025, at 1pm at the Hoskinson Funeral Home in Kirkersville. Mr. Jeff Iden will officiate. Masonic and Eastern Star services will be observed at 1pm. Burial will follow in Poplar Fork Cemetery. Family and friends may call 11am to 1pm, Saturday, at the funeral home. The Licking County Veterans Alliance will present Military Funeral Honors at the cemetery. Mr. Lowery, 92, of Gratiot, was born February 1, 1932, in Murray City, Ohio, and passed away Tuesday, January 7, 2025, at his home with his family by his side. He was the son of Charles and Doris (Hise) Lowery and was a 1950 graduate of Murray City High School. He proudly served in the US Army from 1952-54, during the Korean War. From October 1956 to March 1992, he worked at Rockwell International Corp. in Newark and was a member of Union Local 1037. He was a member of the Gratiot U. Methodist Church, Life Time member of VFW Post 1060 in Newark, Life Time member of American Legion Post 285 in Hebron, Masonic Lodge #360, F&AM in Fultonham and OES Chapter 485. He was married to Creta (Gray) Lowery for 32 years, until her death in 2016. Surviving are his children, Jana (Dwayne) Lee, Jean (Mike) Ball, William Lowery; seven grandchildren, several great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son, Keith Allen Lowery, grandson, Joshua Lee Lovejoy, sisters Chastine Spicer, Judy Canter, brother Glen Hise and two infant siblings.
