Graveside Funeral services, celebrating the life of Alphonse T. “Ted” Bonkowski, 66, of Hebron, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 11, 2020 in the Holy Trinity Cemetery, Somerset; with visitation preceding the funeral from 10:00 am until time of funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Pastor Winfield Strout and Father Stephen Carmody will officiate.
Ted passed away on Monday evening, September 7, 2020 in Columbus, following an extended illness. He was born in Cleveland, on January 4, 1954, but was raised in Trimble, and graduated from Trimble H.S. class of 1972. He worked for 36 years at Owens Corning Fiberglas, Newark. An avid outdoorsman, hunter and fisherman; he also enjoyed watching sports and watching his grandchildren play at sporting events, as well as going to listen to live bands around Buckeye Lake. He had a great love for muscle cars, including his beloved 1970 Chevelle SS. He was a member of the Thornport Amvets, Buckeye Lake Moose #2434.
He is survived by his children: Bryan (Ellen), Wendy (Raymond), Brad (Ashley), Teddy (Courtney); his grandchildren Kaime (Tyler), Kaile (Alex), Kolton, Thomas, Mary, Nathanial, Kendyl, Rylie, Peighten, and Alekzandra; his sisters Linda (Jim) Berry, Doloris (Ed) Bethel, Sharon Boring, Ruth Ann (Charlie) Schnipke; along with great grandchildren Rylan, Raislynn, Leo and London.
Ted was preceded in death by his parents Alphonse T. and Ruth Ann (Howard) Bonkowski.
