Alt Ray Grooms

Alt Ray “Bud” Grooms, age 65, of Newark, passed away on Saturday, November 7, 2020 at the Selma Markowitz Care Center (operated by Hospice of Central Ohio).

Bud was born December 25, 1954 in Newark, Ohio. He retired from Highway Oil in Marion where he had been manager and had also worked for them in several other locations including Florida and Newark. Bud enjoyed working on cars.

He is survived by his mother, Mary Ann (Nethers) Grooms of Newark; wife, Cynthia S. “Cindy” (Tingler) Grooms of Newark; son, Alt Ray Grooms III of Newark; granddaughter, Hailey Grooms; great-grandson, Xavier Tyndall; brothers, Victor (Cathy) Grooms, Jeffery Lee Grooms and Timothy Michael (Kim) Grooms, all of Newark; sister, Becky (Charles) Schimpf of Newark; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Alt Ray Grooms, Jr.; and two sisters, Helen Burdel Crenshaw and Norma Jean Webb.

At his request, no visitation or service will be observed.
