Andrew G. "Sonny" Sothen, Jr.

A graveside inurnment service for Andrew Gilbert "Sonny" Sothen, Jr., age 58, of Zanesville, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 27, at Wilson Cemetery. Military honors will be provided by the Licking County Veterans Alliance.Sonny passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, March 20, 2014 at his home. Sonny was born August 11, 1955 in Buckhannon, West Virginia. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force and was formerly employed with Dayton Precision and Schwebels Bakery where he had been a delivery driver. Sonny enjoyed vintage cars and was an avid fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers. He is survived by his mother, Thelma Marie (Chipps) Sothen of Newark; sons, Phillip Sothen of Adamsville and Jarred Sothen of Okinawa, Japan; step-sons, Jeremy Bennett of Heath and Michael Bennett of Zanesville; six grandchildren; sisters and brothers, Linda Marie (Daniel) Young, Karen F. (Frank) Ardrey, Sharon K. Field, Keith D. (Leona) Sothen, all of Newark, Donna G. (Frank) Gregory of Heath, Rodney B. (Connie) Sothen and Ronda D. Sothen, all of Newark; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Andrew Gilbert Sothen, Sr.; and by three sisters, Gladys J. Williams, Janice L.
