Andrew Robert Schirtzinger, Jr.

Andrew Robert Schirtzinger, Jr., 92, of Thornville passed away on September 3, 2024 at the Selma Markowitz Care Center, operated by Hospice of Central Ohio. He was born in Columbus, Ohio on June 30, 1932 to the late Andrew R. Schirtzinger Sr. and Marie (Fischer) Schirtzinger. Andrew proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. Prior to retirement, he was a police officer with the City of Columbus for 28 years. He enjoyed boating and spending time with family and friends. Survivors include his children, Robert A. Schirtzinger and Andrea (Ed) Chapman; grandson, Josh Short; great grandson, Jericho Short; siblings, Jack, Dave (Karen), Kathleen and Jim; and many nieces, nephews and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Yvonne (Lott) Schirtzinger. At Andrew’s request, no services will be held.
