Anjela R. Spies

A funeral service celebrating the life of Anjela (Coakley) Spies, 58, of Orient, will be held on Wednesday, August 29, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. in the Bethel Lutheran Church, Grove City, with Pastor Peter I. Ray as celebrant. Burial will follow at Floral Hills Cemetery in Circleville, Ohio.

Anjela was born to Leo and Arlene (Myers) Coakley and grew up in Grove City. She enjoyed spending time outdoors; camping, kayaking, playing softball. She also loved animals.

She is survived by her loving family including her daughter, Nicole; mother, Arlene; fiancée, Earnest Hicks, II; sister, Leonita Coakley; half-sister, Jamie Strouse; step-sisters, Linda McNamara, Elaine Myers and Lori Urbanck; step-brother, Dean Jones; and her dogs, Catie and Kotter.

She is preceded in death by her father, Leo, and her beloved husband, Lee Spies.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 28, from 6-8 p.m. at Bethel Lutheran Church, located at 4501 Hoover Rd., Grove City. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Anjela’s name to the Capital Area Humane Society, 3015 Scioto Darby Executive Ct., Hilliard, OH 43026.
