A funeral service celebrating the life of Anna M. Comer, 92, of Newark, will be held on Wednesday, December 9, 2020 at 1:30 p.m. at Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral and Cremation Service, with Father David Sizemore as Celebrant. Burial will follow in Newark Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held at the funeral home, 179 Granville Street, Newark, one hour prior to the funeral service on Wednesday, from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Due to the COVID-19 restrictions, masks must be worn inside the funeral home and please practice social distancing. Anna was born in Beryle, West Virginia on July 26, 1928 to the late Marvin Andrew and Eleanor M. (Tibbetts) Shillingburg. She passed away at the Selma Markowitz Care Center, operated by Hospice of Central Ohio on December 3, 2020. Anna was a member of Saint Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Newark. She was as devoted homemaker to her family, was an avid reader and loving spending time with her family and friends. Survivors include her daughters, Sandra Lee (David) Blaine and Margo Sue Kieber; grandchildren, Kelly (James) Shafer, Tracy (John) Hedges and Bobby (Katherine) Kieber; and 11 great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Comer; and sister, Gladys Van Ostran.
