Annabelle Elswick

Funeral services, celebrating the life of Annabelle Elswick, 83, of Hebron, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 16, 2024 in the chapel of the Thornville home of HOSKINSON Funeral and Cremation Service, with her pastor Jerry Carpenter as celebrant. Burial will follow in the Dew Cemetery, near Corning.  The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 12:00 Noon until time of the funeral services at 2:00, at the funeral home, 56 South Main St. in Thornville.

Annabelle passed away on Wednesday, April 10, 2024 in Somerset, following an extended illness. She was born in Perry Co. on September 15, 1940, the daughter of the late Richard and Doris (Love) Dew. She was a graduate of Corning High School, class of 1958 and was a part time bookkeeper as well as a fulltime homemaker. She was an active member of the Hebron Church of the Nazarene and enjoyed helping others.  In her younger years, she enjoyed stock car racing and drag racing at the old Hyde Park in Newark; watching her kids show horses and compete in karate; and caring for and spending time with her grandson Dillon.

Annabelle is survived by her daughter Lisa (Scott) Parkinson of Somerset, her grandson Dillon Brunton and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, John Brunton in 1961; second husband Ross Thomas “Tom” Elswick in 2003, and her son Terrance Brett Brunton in 2008; and her two brothers Jerry and Donald Dew.

The family prefers that memorial contributions be directed to Hospice of Central Ohio, 2669 Cherry Valley Rd, Newark, Ohio 43055. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.

The family would like to thank the skilled care givers at Hospice of Central Ohio for their loving care of Annabelle. They will be forever grateful.
