Annabelle W. Mechling was born onMay 30, 1920 on a farm near London,Ohio to Lawrence and Edna Mae Field Wallace and passed away on January 21, 2012.Annabelle graduated from Woodstock High School in Champaign County in 1938 and received her Bachelors of Science Degree in Home Economics Education from The Ohio State University in 1942.She taught Home Economics in Johnson-St Paris,Versailles and Lancaster City Schools. Annabelle married Paul P. Mechling on July 29, 1945 inWoodstock,Ohio, enjoying 66 years of marriage.They were members of Grace Lutheran Church of Thornville. Together they managed Wal Mec Farm and operated Wal Mec Bed and Breakfast at the restored family homestead. The farm was recognized as an Ohio Century Farm.She is survived by her sons Dr. Paul II (Joanne) of Pierpont, Ohio and Mark (Nancy) of Duncan Falls; grandchildren Sarah (Marc) Loveland of Roaming Shores, Ohio and Noah Mechling (fiance Beth Vanfossen) of Millersburg; great-grandchildren Madison, Luke and Claire Loveland; and numerous nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her husband Paul who passed away on October 23, 2011; and brothers Roger Dick Wallace and Deane Wallace. Annabelle enjoyed gardening, baking, painting, OSU sports, hosting family and friend gatherings and especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was active in many church and community activities.Calling hours will be held from 2to4 p.m.and 6 to 8 p.m.on Wednesday, January 25, 2012 at the Thornville home of the Hoskinson-Schoedinger Funeral and Cremation Service, 56 South Main Street.The funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 26, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Grace Lutheran Church, 65 East Columbus Street, Thornville.
