Anthony Thomas "Tony" Sharpe

Anthony Thomas “Tony” Sharpe, age 51, of Newark, passed away on Thursday, February 27, 2020 at the Selma Markowitz Care Center (operated by Hospice of Central Ohio) with his loving family by his side. He was born January 12, 1969 in Columbus, Ohio.

Tony was self-employed in construction. He was the #1 fan of the New York Jets and was born on the day they won the Super Bowl in 1969 with Joe Namath as Quarterback. He was a strong supporter of President Trump. A very artistic person, Tony enjoyed drawing, painting, and building model cars and was a tattoo artist. He loved being outdoors in nature and hiking with his family, especially at Hocking Hills. He also liked to ride motorcycles.

He is survived by his wife, Jamie L. (Holdren) Sharpe; five children, Anthony Thomas “T.J.” Sharpe II of Groveport, Brianna H.R. Sharpe, Aurora K.M. Sharpe, Coral L.L. Sharpe and Tanner E.A. Sharpe, all of Newark; grandchildren, Amber, Xavier, Austen, Thomas and Sophia; father and step-mother, Richard M. and Betty Sharpe of Hernando, Mississippi; brothers, James Brandon (Sharon LeighAn) Sharpe of Macon, Missouri and Dan (Carly) Hahn of Southaven, Mississippi; sister, Lisa Hahn; many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Lois Ann (Pughline) Sharpe; a grandson, Jericho; and a brother, Thurman Fitzpatrick.

A private family gathering will be held at a later date.
