Barbara Bell

Barbara Alice Bell, 62, of Gahanna, died peacefully on Sunday, August 19, 2012 at her home with family and friends at her side. Barbara was born August 7, 1950 in Columbus, the daughter of the late Ely and Alice (Anderson) Bell. She was a graduate of Columbus Whetstone H.S., class of 1968, Miami University, class of 1972 and received her MBA from Capital University in 1983. She retired after 30+ years of service at the Defense Logistics Agency at Defense Supply Center Columbus.A lifelong member of the University Baptist Church, Barbara also was a member of the St. Marys Boat Club. She enjoyed traveling and spending time with her close friends: Carolyn Martin, Rita Barnum, Brenda Blair and Trixie Hyser.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother Thomas Bell in 1983. Barbara is survived by her husband Jan Adams, her brother Robert (Melinda) Bell, sister-in-law Shirley Bell, her step-children Amanda (Josh) Carson and Andrew Adams, step-grandson Jeremiah Carson; nephew Erik Bell, nieces Laura Way, Stephanie Saunders and Samantha Bell; many, many cousins and friends, along with her church family at University Baptist Church.A memorial service, celebrating Barbaras life, will be held on Friday, September 14, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the University Baptist Church, 50 West Lane Ave., Columbus.Private family services and Burial at Union Cemetery were conducted on Tuesday, August 21, 2012.The family prefers that memorials be directed to the University Baptist Church, 50 W Lane Ave, Columbus, Ohio, 43201, in Barbaras memory.
