Barbara J. Daugherty

A memorial service celebrating the life of Barbara J. Daugherty, 79, of Newark, will be held on Sunday, August 20, 2023 at 3:00 p.m. at Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral Home, 179 Granville Street, Newark. Barbara was born in Columbus, Ohio on May 7, 1944 to the late Emery Lee and Mayme Frances (Marteen) Wickiser. She passed away at Altercare North on August 10, 2023. Barbara was a devoted homemaker to her family. She enjoyed watching TV, listening to music, but most importantly was the time she spent with her loving family, especially attending family gatherings and cook-outs. Survivors include her sons, Larry Smith, Leslie Smith, Lynn Daugherty and Lee (Mary) Daugherty; nine grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard R. Daugherty; brothers, Merle Park, Sonny Jakeway, David Park; and sister, Pauline Wickiser Park. Memorial contributions can be made in memory of Barbara to the Licking County Food Pantry. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
