Barbara Lou Hiles

A funeral service celebrating the life of Barbara Lou Hiles, 95, of Millersport, will be held on Thursday, November 2, 2023 at 6:00 p.m. at the Kirkersville chapel of Hoskinson Funeral and Cremation Service, with Pastor Jim Condrey officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home, 285 E. Main Street, Kirkersville, prior to the funeral service on November 2nd, from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. Barbara was born in Belmont, Ohio on December 3, 1927 to the late Frank and Madge (Roby) Shreves. She passed away at Mt. Carmel East Hospital on October 14, 2023. Prior to retirement, Barbara was a receptionist with Western Electric for many years. She attended the Millersport United Methodist Church and enjoyed gardening, dancing, singing, painting, was an avid animal lover and especially enjoyed clowning and painting children’s faces. Barbara had an uplifting personality and loved spending time with family and friends. Survivors include a son, Amos (Susanna) Christian; step-son, Douglas Hiles; sisters, Susie Parvin, Mary (Jerry) Jerrell and Carol Burns; grandchildren, Christoper (Michelle) Christian, Glenn (Jill) Christian, Mindi (Corey) Campbell, Jonathan Christian, Matthew (Tosha) McKinster, Amy Joy (Shane) Copeland and Amy Sue (Matt) Valentine; 30 great grandchildren; 17 great great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Hiles; daughter, Mona Lisa McDonough; sister, Maxine Brumfield; and her loving dog, Buckeye. Memorial contributions may be made to the Licking County Humane Society. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
