Barbara L. Hunt

A funeral service, to celebrate the life of Barbara L. Hunt, 83, of Newark, will be held on Wednesday, June 3, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at the Central Christian Church, Disciples of Christ, 587 Mt. Vernon Rd., Newark, with Pastor Jeff Gill officiating. Burial will follow at Newark Memorial Gardens.Friends may call at Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral Home on Tuesday, June 2, 2015 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and also on Wednesday, one hour prior to the funeral service at church, from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m.Barbara was born in Newark, Ohio on December 5, 1931 to the late Edmond Lee and Hilda Gertrude (Fundis) Bonham. She passed away at her residence in Newark on May 30, 2015 while surrounded by her loving family.Prior to retirement, Barbara was a secretary with the City of Newark, Department of Engineering for over 30 years. She was a devoted life time member of Central Christian Church, Disciples of Christ, where she taught Sunday school and was an Elder. She inspired many and received the distinguished award of Elder Emeritus. Barbara was a member of TWIG 13, enjoyed sewing, traveling, cooking and playing tennis in her younger years. However, most important in her life was being a dedicated and loving wife and mother.Survivors include her daughter, Karen Elizabeth Hunt of Newark; son, Stephen Edmond Hunt of Newark; sister, Carol Ann Caspillo; nieces, Carrice (Donovan) Nalani Caspillo Gardner and Janet (Neil) Bonham Campbell; nephews, Eric James Caspillo, David (Joyce) Bonham and Chris Bonham; and numerous cousins and friends.In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Albert Edwin Hunt, Jr.; and one brother, Robert Fundis Bonham.Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Barbara to Greystone Hospice, 500 W.
