Barbara L. Lane

A funeral service celebrating the life of Barbara L. Lane, age 82, of Newark, will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, February 23, at Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral Home with Pastor Roger Cummings officiating. Burial will take place in Newark Memorial Gardens. Barbara was born August 24, 1932 in Newark, Ohio to the late James and Sophia (Anderson) Decker. She passed away on Thursday, February 19, 2015 at Chestnut House in Newark. Barbara was a cashier at Big Bear on 3rd Street in Newark for 34 years and was a member of the Church of God. Barbara enjoyed entertaining friends, cooking and baking and was known for her delicious biscuits. She is survived by three children, Dan (Anita) Lane of Hebron, Dean (Mary) Lane and Denise Lane, all of Newark; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; brothers, Roland (Rosemary) Decker and Richard Decker, all of Newark; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur T. Lane, on March 10, 1998; and by several brothers and sisters. Friends may call from 2-5 p.m. on Sunday, February 22, at the funeral home, 179 Granville Street, Newark.
