A funeral service celebrating the life of Barbara Lee “Barb” Six, age 77, of Newark, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 10, 2023 at Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral Home with Pastor Mark Pierce officiating. Burial will follow in Fairmount Cemetery.
Friends may call from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home, 179 Granville Street in Newark.
Barbara was born August 23, 1945 in Newark, Ohio to the late William Francis and Betty Lee (Ball) Weakley. She passed away on Saturday, August 5, 2023 at her home.
Barb was a legal secretary for Baker and Hostetler Attorneys in Columbus for many years. She had many hobbies including knitting, crocheting, going to the casino, and playing video games such as Tetris, Space Invaders and Pacman. She also enjoyed drag racing, wrestling, NASCAR, and was an avid fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers.
She is survived by two daughters, Tammy Six-Baker (Jeff Simpson) of Newark and Deborah (Thomas) Baker of St. Louisville; grandchildren, Dusty (Heather) Baker of Newark, Dallas Baker, Nicky Six (Anessa Trussell) of Newark, Jadon, Matthews, Derek (Lexie) Baker of Newark, and Samara (Noah) Johnston of Hebron; great-grandchildren, Natalee, Lorie, Katie, Michael, Leanna, and Layla; brothers, William “Billy” (Nancy) Weakley of Newark and Ed (Lelia) Weakley of Granville; nieces and nephews, Austin Weakley, Nick (Kelly) Weakley, Shelly (Steve) Hobbs, and Steve (Trish) Weakley; and great nephews, Wyatt and Aiden Elkins.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her boyfriend, Richard Walsh.
