Barbara Francis Thorpe

A Graveside service for Barbara F. Thorpe, 84, of Thornville will be held on Tuesday, March 19, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at the Swank Cemetery in Spencer, WV. Barbara died peacefully on Thursday, March 14, 2019. Barbara was born in Coalburg, WV, to the late Harry and Mildren (White) Holstein. Barbara enjoyed sewing, quilting, gardening, cooking and canning. Barbara is survived by her children: Sid (Dodie) Thorpe, Jr and Bucky Wright. Her sister Judy Holstein; Grandchildren: Chasidy Mullins, Dawnya Bennett; 9 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Sidney A. Thorpe, Sr.; her sisters: Betty Kennedy, Marcline “Aunt Dink” Booth, and Doris Kidd; her brothers: Carl, Bob and Bill Holstein. The family will receive friends on Monday, March 18, 2019, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Thornville home of HOSKINSON Funeral and Cremation Service, 56 S. Main St. Thornville.
