Barbara Sue Williamson

November 6, 1949 — March 27, 2024

In loving memory of Barbara Sue Williamson, who graced this world with her presence on November 6, 1949. With heavy hearts, we announce her unexpected passing at Samaritan Hospital on March 27, 2024, at the age of 74.

A lifelong Ohio girl, Barbara Sue was a beacon of light in the lives of all who knew her. Her unwavering kindness, silly nature, and infectious laughter touched countless hearts and left an indelible mark on the world around her. She was born to Anna (Hanson) Berridge and Ore Opal Berridge.

Family was at the center of Barbara Sue's universe, and she cherished every moment spent with her loved ones. She loved sharing a meal with family, shopping with her daughters, spoiling her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and was incredibly generous to those in need. Her genuine compassion and empathy knew no bounds.

She was preceded in death by her father, her beloved husband Robert Williamson, her infant son Robert Jr. and Sissy Puppy.

She leaves behind her mother, 8 brothers and 8 sisters.  Her daughters and sons-in-law, Tami (Jim) Newlon, Terri Williamson, Michelle (Tony) Mead, and Heather (Mike) Kennedy.   She was a beloved MawMaw and left behind her 11 grandchildren:  Christofer (Holly) Newton, Nicholas (Sarah) Newton, Malaree (DJ) Hunt, Caitlyn Kennedy, Travis Ru Lon, Jacob (Lauren Gardner) Kennedy, Brakan Mead, Robbie (Jennifer) Adkins, Jimmy (Kirsten) Newlon, Cara (JD) Newlon, and Erin Newlon. She leaves behind 15 great-grandchildren:  Savannah Newton, Noah Newton, Bjorn Hunt, Benjamin Newton, Laithum Hunt, Abigail Newton, Baby Newton on the way, Josiah, Lexi, Kinsley & Madison Adkins, Rayshella, Jayden, Peyton & Sophia Newlon. Last but not least, her fur great grands, Ringo, Winston & Brown Dog (aka Solo).

Though Barbara Sue may no longer walk among us, her spirit lives on in the countless lives she touched. Her memory will forever be a source of comfort and inspiration to all fortunate enough to have known her.

As we bid farewell to Barbara Sue Williamson, we take solace in knowing that her love will continue shining brightly in our hearts. May she rest in eternal peace, surrounded by the love and light she brought into the world.

Friends may call from 2-4 p.m. on Monday, April 1, at Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral Home, 179 Granville Street in Newark.

Private inurnment will take place at a later date at Green Hill Cemetery in Johnstown.
