Barbara Arlinda Willingham

A funeral service celebrating the life of Barbara Arlinda Willingham, 79, of Columbus, will be held on Saturday, September 2, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral Home, with Pastor Wes Humble officiating. Burial will be held at a later date at Newark Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held at the funeral home, 179 Granville Street, Newark, on Friday, September 1st, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Barbara was born in Seattle, Washington on November 30, 1943 to the late Clark and Beryl (Howard) Grunewald. She passed away at her daughter’s residence on August 23, 2023. Prior to retirement, Barbara was a registered nurse with Manor Care Nursing Home, Harding Hospital and Ohio State University Hospitals for over 40 years. She was a member of the Ohio Nurses Association and enjoyed traveling, gardening, ceramics and fast cars. Barbara had a charitable heart and would help anyone in need. Most importantly was the time she spent with her loving family, especially attending her grandchildren’s activities. She will be missed by everyone that knew her. Survivors include her loving husband of 29 years, Reginald Willingham, whom she married April 22, 1994; children, Sheryl (Rodney Mayes) Brown, Benjamin Green, Donna (James) Dean and Reginald (Shelly) Willingham Jr.; grandchildren, Jade (Jessica), Brittney (Mark), Stephen, Warren (Bethany), Jeremy, James, Maxwell, Sophia, Makala, Reginald III, Ariella, Raymeir and Jada; great grandchildren, Serena, Damien, Elizabeth, Penelope, Archer, Violet, Taryn, Genevieve and Analiese; sisters, Claire Wright, Gretchen (Gary) Hardin; sister-in-law, Chinty Grunewald; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, John Grunewald. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Barbara to the National Kidney Foundation.
