Belinda Mae Black, age 71, of Newark, passed away on Monday, January 15, 2024 at her home. She was born May 23, 1952 in Middletown, Ohio to the late Stanley and Florilla (Jenkins) Harris.
Belinda was formerly employed with Englefield Oil as a clerk. She enjoyed spending time with her great-granddaughter, playing Solitaire, and loved her cats, dogs, and all animals. Belinda was the glue that held the family together.
She is survived by her grandchildren, Jayde Michelle Meckley (Darek Brown) and Shawn Alexander Meckley; great-granddaughter, Amara Mae Brown; special niece, Deonda Simpson (Harry Baker) and many other nieces and nephews; and a sister, Judy Barker.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Phillip David Black, on November 3, 2020; by a son, Shawn Richard Meckley, on December 29, 2021; a brother, Gary Jenkins; and two sisters, Paula Biars and Sandra Harris.
