Benjamin Gainer

A funeral service celebrating the life of Benjamin Guy Gainer III, age 41, of Buckeye Lake, will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, January 13, at the Kirkersville home of Hoskinson Funeral & Cremation Service with Mike Haynes as celebrant. Friends may call from 2-5 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home, 285 East Main Street in Kirkersville. Benjamin was born February 12, 1975 in Columbus, Ohio to the Benjamin Guy Gainer, Jr. and the late Rhita Sue (Burtnett) Gainer. He passed away on Tuesday, January 10, 2017 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Ben had been employed as a mechanic with Yellow Cab in Newark. He attended Lakewood Schools, enjoyed woodworking and loved eagles. In addition to his father, he is survived by his wife of 23 years, Christina (Pherigo) Gainer, whom he married October 10, 1993; and by five children, Luke Medearis, Rhita Gainer, Faith Gainer, Benjamin Gainer IV and Cody (Olivia) Goodman; grandchildren, Doralynn, Makayla, Jazzmyn and Logan; siblings, Greg (Wanda) Moore, Tera Hawes, Kenny (Jessica) Gainer, Nick Gray, Tonya (Billy) Taylor, Chad Gainer, Brandt (Deanna) Gainer and Larry (Ashley) Gainer; five aunts, three uncles, many nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by a brother, Matt Gainer; and a niece, Kenedra Jo Gainer. Hoskinson Funeral & Cremation Service is honored to care for Ben and his family.
