Berlin David Giles, age 77, of Newark, formerly of Dayton, passed peacefully on Friday, April 7, 2018 at the Flint Ridge Health and Rehab Center in Newark surrounded by his loving family. Berlin was born April 21, 1940 in Clairfield, Tennessee to the late Fred Columbus Giles, Sr. and Virginia Marie (Parker) Giles. He retired from Green Tokai and had also been employed with Dayton Press. Berlin was an active member of the Brentwood Baptist Church in Huber Heights. He enjoyed landscaping and working around his yard. He was very family-oriented man who loved spending time with his family. He is survived by a son, Michael (Michele) Giles of Xenia; daughter, Robin (Robert, Jr.) Anglin of Newark; grandchildren, Joshua, Alisha, Tabitha, Timothy and Zachary; great-grandchildren, Ethan, Brooklyn, Gage, Malina, Tahlia, Charlie, Payton, Paislee and Harper; brothers, Ralph Giles of Tipp City and Frank Giles of Trotwood; sister, Barbara Duncan of Tennessee; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Dixie Cunningham, Ruth Land and Bonnie Lizzotte; and three brothers, Johnny Giles, Fred C. Giles, Jr. and Jack Giles. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or to the National Kidney Foundation.At his request, there will be no visitation or service observed.
