Bertha Easter Neece

Bertha Harris Neece, 102, of Granville, passed away at her home on September 30, 2021. A funeral service, celebrating her life will be held on Wednesday, October 6, 2021 at 12:00 noon at the Kirkersville home of HOSKINSON Funeral and Cremation Service, with William Reese as officiant. Bertha will be laid to rest next to her husband Henry in the Kirkersville Cemetery.

She was born on April 20, 1919, Easter Sunday in Venia, Buchanan County, Virginia to the late James H. and Emma (Barton) Harris. Bertha is survived by sons Roger and Larry, daughters Fern and Evelyn; 12 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren; several great-great grandchildren; brother Robert and sisters Maxie, Viola and Shirley, and a host of nieces and nephews and cousins.

Bertha was preceded in death by her husband Henry; sons Lloyd and Carlos; daughter Kathleen; brothers Troy, Taze, Gus and Dexter; and sisters Ruby, Mary and Lucy.

Bertha enjoyed attending church, gardening, flowers, animals and spending time with her family.

Her family will receive friends on Wednesday for two hours prior to the funeral services, starting at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home, 285 E Main St. in Kirkersville.

All non-vaccinated persons will need to wear masks inside of the funeral home.
