Bessie L. Petrey

A funeral service to celebrate the life of Bessie L. Petrey, age 82, of Newark, will be held on Sunday, October 26, 2014 at 2:00 pm at Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Eden Cemetery.Mrs. Petrey was born in Mt. Vernon, Ohio on November 5, 1931 to the late Charles and Jennie Mae (Myers) Sharp. She passed away at Flint Ridge Nursing Care Center on October 23, 2014.Prior to retirement, she was a home health aide and was a devoted homemaker to her husband and children.Survivors include her daughter, Gale (Tim) Neville of St. Louisville; son, Ed (Daette) Petrey of Bloomington, IL; grandchildren, Christopher (Tina) Neville, Lawrence (Katie) Petrey III, Nehemiah Petrey; sisters, Thelma Bricker of Mt. Vernon and Elma Love of Newark; brother, Ronald Sharp of St. Louisville; great grandchildren, Olivia Neville, Rylee Neville, Colton Neville and Makenna Petrey; and numerous nieces and nephews.In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Petrey in 1987; four brothers, John, Jess, Roy and Charles Sharp Jr.; and sister, Ada Mae Sharp.Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Mrs. Petrey to Generation Hospice or to Licking County Humane Society.
