A funeral service, celebrating the life of Bette Ann Simpson, 91, of Newark will be held on Monday, April 20, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral Home with her husband, Pastor Robert Bob Simpson officiating. Burial will follow at Newark Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at the funeral home, 179 Granville Street, Newark, on Sunday, April 19, 2015 from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m.Bette was born in Columbus, Ohio on January 6, 1924 to the late Lloyd Harry and Anna (Rolf) Carter. She passed away on April 15, 2015 at her residence while surrounded by her loving family.She was a devoted member of Maple Avenue Christian Union Church, where she was a Sunday school teacher, sang in the choir, along with singing in the group Singing Witness and belonged to Dorcas Ladies Group. She loved being in her flower garden and cooking for her family and friends. She enjoyed working crossword puzzles and was devoted to studying the bible with her husband every day. She also enjoyed playing dominos, camping and hosting pool parties and spending time with her grandchildren.Survivors include her loving husband of 52 years, Pastor Bob Simpson, whom she married May 7, 1963; children, Loyd Trickle, Linda (Robert) Meyer, Alan Trickle, Carol (Tom) Ault and Connie Simpson; grandchildren, Dwane Meyer, Alvena (Jeffrey) Allbaugh, Kevin (Becky) Ault, Kim Ault, Kelly (Terri) Ault, Tiffany (Tyler) Gordon and Lisa Bogard; great grandchildren, Nicholas Meyer, Sarah Meyer, Robbie (Lynzi) Ault, Wyatt Ault, Rachel Ault, Rianne Ault, Kaleb Ault, Katelyn Ault, Kameron Ault, Kristyn Ault, Tanner Gordon, Tucker Gordon, Jeffrey Allbaugh and Ross Allbaugh; one great great granddaughter, Madalyn Ault.In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a granddaughter-in-law, Stacy Ault.Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Bette to Foundation For Hospice of Central Ohio, P.O.
