Betty Harlan

A funeral service, celebrating the life of Betty E. Harlan, 91, of Thornville, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 10, 2016 in the chapel of The Thornville home of HOSKINSON Funeral and Cremation Service, with Pastor Richard Moats as celebrant. Burial will follow in the Oakthorpe Cemetery. Betty died Tuesday morning, September 6, 2016 at her home following an extended illness. She was born in Lancaster on January 15, 1925, the daughter of the late Robert H and Faye (Miller) Tribble. Betty graduated from Rushville H.S. class of 1942. She worked for over thirty years at Western Electric in Columbus. She was a member of the Oakthorpe Church and the American Legion Auxillary at Thornport. Betty enjoyed sewing, and walking on the beach at Sanibel. She wintered in Ft. Myers, Florida for many years. She is survived by her loving family: son Steve (Susie) of Thornville, daughter-in-law Linda (Mrs. Jeff) Harlan, grandchildren Maggie Harlan, Heather (Jeff) Phillips, Katrina (Chuck) Blanchard, Melody (John) Addis, Tiffani Louk; great grandchildren Alivia, Cameron, Alexis, Robert, Sydney, Tiffani, Melody, William and Ashlie; great-great grandchildren Zaraya, Zyrik and Ayla; siblings Margie Hite, Robert ( Judy) Tribble and Jane(Ed) Palmer; many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Joseph in 1989, son Jeff, and her two sisters Josephine Cotterman and Violet Young. The family will receive friends on Friday, September 9, 2016 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. HOSKINSON Funeral and Cremation Service, Thornville, is honored to care for Betty and the Harlan Family.
