A funeral service, celebrating the life of Betty Louise Pinnick, 81, formerly of Romeo, will be held on Friday, October 10, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at St. John Lutheran Church in Romeo; with Pastor Mark Evans and Pastor Martin Gehring as celebrants. Burial will follow at Romeo Cemetery.Betty was born in Detroit in 1933, the daughter of the late Walter and Grace (Wendt) Felstow. A graduate of Roseville H.S., class of 1950, Betty worked for Fruehauf transportation before devoting her life to her family.She was an active member of St. John Lutheran Church, where she was a member of the Eunice Circle, Adult Choir, Bible study, Stephen Ministry group, pinochle, bowling and euchre clubs. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, reading, traveling and crafts.Some of the happiest moments of her life were: her wedding day, the birth of her children, family vacations, Branson, Mo. and going to Sanders ice cream with Grandma Wendt to get a 14 cent pineapple ice cream sundae.Betty was one of the longest surviving liver transplant recipients in the U.S. Having received a transplant in May of 1985.She is survived by her loving family: husband Donald P. Pinnick, whom she married on April 12, 1951, sons: Alan (Brenda), Mark, Matthew, daughters: Laura Calabro and Carol Drayer; grandchildren Ben, Brooke (Robert), Michael (Angela), Jamie, Katie, Frank, Kipp (Sara), Kristy (Jeremy), David; great grandchildren Gabe, Emma, Aria, Heidi, Dexter and Grace; brother Lloyd Felstow, several nieces and nephews, sister-in-laws Mary Ann Felstow and Ella Pinnick . And special family friend, Richard Hoskinson.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son Michael and her brother Donald Felstow.The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 9, 2014 from 4-8:00 p.m. at St. John Lutheran Church, located at 246 Benjamin Street in Romeo.Memorials may be directed to the St. John Lutheran Church in her honor. The family remains grateful for the compassionate caregivers of Heartland Hospice.The family wishes to thank the Muir Brothers Funeral Home of Almont, MI for their assistance.
