Beverly Ann McMahan, 76, of Pataskala, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 20, 2022, at Tuscany Gardens. She was born on June 14, 1946, in Orlando, Florida to the late Wendell and Charlene McMahan and later moved to the Great State of Texas that same year, where she grew up and built a family until a job transfer brought them to Louisville, Kentucky. She later made her way to China to teach English and then came back to find peace in Pataskala, Ohio. Beverly was an adventurous spirit that traveled this world spreading joy and comfort to all the lives she touched. During her life she wore many hats from Homemaker, Personnel Director, Executive Assistant to a Congressman, Hot Air Balloon Pilot, Professional Clown, Kentucky Colonel, International Teacher, and Award-Winning Comedian. Her happiest moments were spent as Blue Bonnet the Clown, where she volunteered her time to local charities, parades, hospitals, nursing homes, The Jerry Lewis telethon, and as a featured performer for The Kentucky Derby Festival. Beverly’s greatest strength was the ability to bring smiles to the faces of children and adults alike in their time of struggle. Her sense of caring for other people has always resonated with everyone around her. Beverly is survived by her sons, Jason Burleson of Houston, Texas and Dale Burleson of Waxahachie, Texas, along with her grandsons Brandt Burleson and Blake Burleson of Waxahachie, Texas, and her great grandson Calby Burleson of Waxahachie, Texas. There will be a mass at St. Edward the Confessor Catholic Church, Granville, Ohio to celebrate her life on Wednesday, January 11, 2023, at 9:00 a.m., followed by a service in the Blessed Sacrament Chapel. In lieu of giving flowers, the family asks that those who are able instead donate to St. Vincent de Paul food pantry, Newark, Ohio. Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral and Cremation Service is honored to care for Beverly and her family.
