Billie Jo Darkes

Billie Jo Darkes, 75, of Heath, died Friday, March 24, 2023, at the Arlington Care Center in Newark. She was born December 28, 1947, in Wellsville, OH to the late Charles W.S. Ferry and Edna Louise (Ewing) Behling. Billie Jo was very outspoken and had a way of being loving and sarcastic at the same time. She was a very strong and caring person. She was a loving mother and grandmother and loved spending time with her family. To her son, she was his best friend. She collected Longaberger baskets and was an amazing cook. She had a way to make everyone she met enjoy being around her. She had an infectious laugh that made you want to laugh too. She is survived by her life partner, Kimberly Summer; son, Scott Darkes; daughter, Stacy (Dean) Arnott; grandchildren, Matthew Arnott, Brittany Arnott, Sonya Anderson, Justin Marmie, Noel McLain, Tyler Freed, Summer Darkes, and Kara Toney; six great grandchildren,; sister, Barbara Ann Brown; brother, Edward Ferry; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Darkes, sisters, Mary Lousie Sunckle and Goldie Farson; and five nephews.
