Boris Khadjibekov

A funeral service celebrating the life of Boris Khadjibekov, age 86, of Newark, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, September 25, at Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral Home. Burial will take place in Cedar Hill Cemetery. Friends may call from 2-5 p.m. on Sunday, September 24, at the funeral home, 179 Granville Street, Newark.Boris was born March 28, 1931 in Mozdok, USSR to the late Michail Misha and Tamara (Kasparova) Khadjibekov. He passed away on Thursday, September 21, 2017 at his home surrounded by his loving family.Boris was a graduate of a Chemistry and Oil Technical College and worked in ship building, maintenance and repair. He moved from Baku, Azerbaijan in 1988 to Moscow and immigrated to the United States with his family in 1996.Boris was very talented in sewing and shoe making. He was an excellent cook and enjoyed cooking for large groups. A jack of all trades, Boris enjoyed remodeling and repair. He was an excellent swimmer and taught many family members and friends to swim. Boris had a thirst for knowledge and learning and loved to read books and newspapers, work crossword puzzles and was knowledgeable on many subjects. He was a wonderful man who will be greatly missed by his family and friends.He is survived by two daughters, Marina (Arkadi) Ter-Saakova and Tamara (John) Arutyunova, all of Newark; grandchildren, Roman (Brittany), Inna (Brandon), Anna and Boris; great-grandchildren, Zina and Nairi; sister, Lyalya Amirdzhanyants; nieces, Dianna and Madlena; a nephew, Sergey; and many extended family members.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Zina (Vanyagina) Khadjibekov.Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral Home is honored to care for Boris and his family.
