Brenda Jane Evans

A reception celebrating the life of Brenda Jane Evans, age 61, of Newark, will be held from 1-5 p.m. on Saturday, December 18, at Family of Faith Community Church, 975 Mount Vernon Road in Newark.

Brenda was born September 16, 1960 in Panama City, Florida. She passed away on Monday, December 13, 2021 at Licking Memorial Hospital. Brenda was employed in the banking industry with Chase and its predecessors for 13 years. She was also formerly employed with Wilson’s Garden Center and recently retired from Discover Financial Services.

Brenda loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, and taking vacations to Madeira Beach in Florida.

She is survived by her loving husband, James Daniel Evans, whom she married November 21, 1981; daughters and sons-in-law, Jennifer and Ryan Friend and Kacie and Jon Fertig; grandchildren, Thea and Colson Friend, and Evan and Lyndi Fertig; her mother, Patricia (Jordan) Freeman; sisters and brother-in-law, Diana and Ralph Rine, Lora “Sis” Wilcox, and Tina Worth; brothers and sisters-in-law, Gary Freeman, Neil (Bonnie) Freeman and Danny (Andee) Freeman; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and great-great-nieces and nephews; father-in-law, Daniel A. Evans; and a long list of special friends.

Brenda was preceded in death by her father, Ronald Freeman; and brothers-in-law, Bobby Wilcox and Tim Worth.
