A funeral service celebrating the life of Brenton A. “Brent” Lane, 68 of Newark, will be held on Saturday, November 5, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral and Cremation Service, with Pastor Wes Humble officiating. Burial will follow in Smith Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home, 179 Granville Street, Newark, on Friday, November 4th, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Brent was born in Newark, Ohio on September 23, 1954 to the late Harold Lane and Mildred (Ellis) Olive. He passed away at his residence on October 31, 2022. Prior to retirement, Brent was a machinist with Burden’s Machine & Welding for 23 years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, woodworking, motorcycling and assembling models. Most important was the time he spent with his loving family and friends, and will be missed by everyone that knew him. Survivors include his loving wife of 42 years, Sue D. (Montgomery) Lane, whom he married September 20, 1980; children, Sarah, Brent (Christina), Shawna (Andy), Tauna and Maggie; grandchildren, Zaine (Rachella), Kameron (Harry), Kayleb (Sierra), Kaydden (Hailey), Alex (Patience), Brandon, Erin Maddy, McKenzy, Sophie, Ferrin and Wade; great grandchildren, Ava, Timothy, Brooklynn, Lorelai, Ezrah and Izzy; brothers and sisters, Brenda (Kevin), Joyce (Terry), Mark (Patty) and Robert (Ann); and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a step-father, Robert Olive. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Brent to the Licking County Board of Developmental Disabilities.
