Bruce Edward Whitt

A funeral service celebrating the life of Bruce Edward Whitt, age 57, of Etna, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 27, 2016 at the Victory Baptist Church, 9564 Hazelton-Etna Road, Pataskala, with Rev. Mark E. Plaugher officiating. Friends may call from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. prior to the service at the church. Burial will take place in Fletcher Chapel Cemetery in Millersport.Bruce was born October 18, 1958 in Columbus, Ohio to the late Ronald B. Ron and Jean (Gillum) Whitt. He passed away on Friday, August 19, 2016 at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center.Bruce retired from Abbott Laboratories where he had been employed as an operator in the energy center. He was an active member of Victory Baptist Church and served as a trustee, church council member and bus driver. He was an avid music lover and sports fan and especially liked the OSU Buckeyes, Denver Broncos and the Cincinnati Reds. He enjoyed traveling and cooking and was known to be a grill master. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and going to their sporting events.He is survived by a daughter, Rhonda (Scott) Sanford of Mount Sterling; son, Jesse (Alyssa Rice) Whitt of Grove City; eight grandchildren; grandmother, Vesta White of Jackson; three step-children, Greg Love, Alicia Schlitz and Hugh Love; brothers, William Whitt of Cincinnati and John Whitt of Columbus; two nephews and one niece.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Sondra K.
