A funeral service celebrating the life of Bryan W. Layne, age 85 of Newark, will be held on Monday, February 19, 2018 at 7:00 p.m. at Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral Home, with Pastor Jeff Perry officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home, 179 Granville Street, Newark, two hours prior to the funeral service on Monday, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, February 20, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Cedar Hill Cemetery. Bryan was born in Peach Creek, WV on December 15, 1932 to the late Aubry and Junia (Whitman) Layne. He passed away at Licking Memorial Hospital on February 15, 2018. Bryan graduated from Logan High School, Class of 1950, in Logan, WV. He worked at Owens-Corning Fiberglas; Roper Manufacturing; and retired from Liebert Corporation with 21 years of service. He attended Faith United Methodist Church in Newark. Bryan was known for all of the bird houses that he constructed, with over 700 bird houses around our community and he enjoyed taking car rides with his wife, looking and admiring Gods nature. Survivors include his two children, Robbin Alan Layne and Candice Veldine Layne; sister, Ruth Stinson; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Joy (Tomlinson) Layne, in 1996; and one sister, Diana Brewster. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Bryan to Faith United Methodist Church, 261 E. Main Street, Newark, Ohio 43055.
