Burl Daniel "Dan" Nafzger

A funeral service celebrating the life of Burl Daniel “Dan” Nafzger, 58 of Thurston, will be held on Thursday, September 7, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. at the Thornville chapel of Hoskinson Funeral and Cremation Service with Pastor Steve Rauch officiating. Burial will follow in Primitive Baptist Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home, 56 South Main Street, Thornville, on Wednesday, September 6th from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Dan was born in Lancaster, Ohio on September 21, 1964 to the late Thomas Nafzger and Patricia (Jackson) Nafzger, who survives. He passed away at Altercare of Thornville on August 31, 2023. Dan was a mechanic with Safeway Auto in Baltimore for over 20 years. He enjoyed working on cars, antiquing and going to yard sales with his brother, Rich and he also enjoyed spending time with his family, especially spoiling his grandchildren. In addition to his mother, survivors include his two children, Cody (Teresa) Nafzger and Jennifer (Timothy Cox) Nafzger; grandchildren, Isabella Nafzger, Aleena Nafzger, Brynlee Nafzger and Caden Nafzger; former wife and mother of children, Rhonda; sister, Jodi (Eugene) Neal; brother, Robert (Jerri) Nafzger; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a sister, Cindy Meadows; and brother and sister-in-law, Rich and Peggy Nafzger. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Dan to Huntington’s Disease Society of America. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
