A funeral service celebrating the life of Candy Rafferty, age 73 of Hebron, will be held on Wednesday, May 3, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Heath, 525 S. 30th Street, Heath, with Pastor Rob Hare officiating. Burial will follow in Licking Cemetery, Hebron, Ohio. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 2nd, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Heath. Candy was born in Columbus, Ohio on December 31, 1949, the youngest child to the late Fred and Regina (Wolfe) Asbury. She went to be with the Lord on April 27, 2023. She is survived by her devoted husband of 44 years, the love of her life, Edward, whom she married October 7, 1978. Loved ones to cherish her memory are her children, DonnaMarie (David) Hanby, Michael Rafferty, Kirsten (Frank) Carter, Caleb Rafferty, Corey Rafferty and Jacob Rafferty; her beloved grandchildren, Andrew, Kali, Erica, Ethan, Aydan, Xavier, Gracie, Lexie, Jonah, Colton, Judson, Addy, Dylan and Emily; her great grandchildren, Lillie and Jade; sister, Kas (Gary) McLaughlin; Bonus Dad, Ed Swiger; cousins; nieces and nephews; honorary daughters, Rosemary Renee Springs and Stephanie (Seth) Noland; and extended family, friends and her church family at First Baptist Church of Heath. . A special thank you to Mary Kay and Barb and the Beach Buddies. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Bev Way and brother-in-law, Ray Way. Candy did voluntary babysitting for over 31 years and was blessed to serve the Lord through Licking Baptist Church, First Baptist Church and First Baptist Church of Heath in children’s ministry, youth groups, nursery, and foster care for over 40 years.
