Carl A. Shaneyfelt

A funeral service celebrating the life of Carl A. Shaneyfelt, age 86, of Newark, will be held on Friday, June 23, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral Home with Pastor Mark Pierce officiating. Burial will follow at Newark Memorial Gardens with military honors being observed by the Licking County Veterans Alliance. Carl was born in Lower Salem, Ohio on March 10, 1931 to the late William and Mary Golden (Hallett) Shaneyfelt. He passed away at his residence on June 19, 2017. Carl proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. Prior to retirement, he was a carpenter with Owens-Corning Fiberglas for over 30 years. He enjoyed gardening, bird watching, fishing, boating, camping, was an avid outdoorsman and also enjoyed watching NASCAR. Survivors include his children, Sammy Shaneyfelt, Carla Sue (Michael) Miethe, Deborah (Thomas) Link and Rhonda (Dale) Allen; 10 grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his two wives, Emma M. (Guthrie) Shaneyfelt and Dian (Bragg) Shaneyfelt; sisters, Margaret, Ruthie and Mary Alice; and brothers, Harold, William, Jacob and Claude.
