Carl Bo Huff

November 10, 1974 — May 4, 2022

SOMERSET –Carl Ray Huff, 47 died at his residence on May 04, 2022.  He was born in Licking Memorial Hospital in Newark, Ohio on November 10, 1974, and is the son of Carlos and Linda Huff (Thornville).  He graduated from Millersport High School in 1992 and played football on the varsity team.

Following graduation, he pursued a career as a cable technician and followed his dreams of playing music as a hobby.  He met a lot of musicians and played with multiple people in clubs around the area.  He was an incredible artist and could draw anything.  In 2006, Bo welcomed a son named Gabe Irwin.  Bo loved being a father and enjoyed teaching Gabe how to play the drums and guitar!  The two of them enjoyed games, playing football, music, and movies together.  Gabe is gifted with Bo’s humor and the two of them were hilarious together.

Growing up, Bo and his two sisters who were all very close in age and loved being together.  For a time, he was the baby of the family and his sisters loved to torment him when he tried taking a bath or shower.  Grabbing the shaving cream, they would spray that in the shower, and he’d scream for their mom.  On the flipside, they were his biggest protectors.  As an example, his sister Angela would beg their dad to punish her instead of him when he misbehaved. Their youngest brother Nick was born in 1986 when Bo was 12, Angela was 14, and DeDe was 16.  They did everything with Nick, even picking him up from nap, which made it very difficult to get that baby on a schedule.  Nick was their baby and they enjoyed him so very much! They would swing Nick and their cousin Raeven on the swing set, swim in the creak when a storm rolled through, and played outside for hours.

His cousin, Raeven (Herold) Batt was born a year before Nick, and she was at the Huff house so much that she eventually moved in and became a huge part of the family.  Bo also had a very close friend, Dennis Beaty that was always over at the Huff house. Bo learned to swim in his uncle’s pond and begged his parents relentlessly to go swimming every day.

Bo also had a ton of cousins he loved dearly that he grew up with in his family, he hung out with them in his adult years, attended almost any event he was invited to, and visited every one of them from time to time.  He especially had a special bond with his cousin, Chrissy Darling. Him and her were the same age and loved popping those tar bubbles in the street next to Bo’s house on hot summer days for fun.  He often asked his mom to tie pillowcases around their necks to make a “cape” and they would play superheroes for hours. Chrissy went to many of Bo’s band shows to support him in his greatest hobby.

To know Bo, you knew music was his passion.  He learned to play the guitar as a young student and continued to grow his skills.  He was one of the best guitar players around the area.  In addition to guitar skills, he could play the drums and sax. He also sang a lot in the clubs where he played with a band. He would send videos from him playing at his residence and with a band to all his family members and lots of friends.  Bo was the family comedian and loved watching comedies.  He would always bring the laughter to any gathering.  We will miss him dearly as he had a beautiful heart.

He is preceded in death by Maternal and Paternal Grandparents, Uncle Hager Huff, Uncle Jim Huff, Aunt Helen Huff, Aunt Clara Huff, and Aunt Janis Huff.  Many cousins and close friends.

He is survived by his parents, his sister DeDe (Chad) Ervin (Millersport, OH), his sister Angela Huff (Vero Beach, FL), and his son, Gabe Irwin (Newark, OH).  And his loving companion/dog, Coco.

The family will have a private ceremony with no calling hours.
