Carl Melvin Daniels passed away peacefully at home, Sunday, February 9, 2025 at the age of 92. He was born December 14, 1932.
He was a veteran of the Korean War. After retiring from Holophane, he became a long haul truck driver for 17 years. He was a member of the Pataskala Church of Christ and served as Elder and Deacon. His hobby was wood working and building things for his children and grandchildren. His nightly ritual was eating popcorn in his big silver bowl, cashews and vanilla ice cream with chocolate syrup.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Neil and Esther Daniels; his wife of 70 years, Avalene Mae Daniels; sisters, Waneta Estep and Reba Baker.
He is survived by his sister, Barbara Travis; sons, Stephen (Suellen) Daniels, Brian (Audra) Daniels; grandchildren, Heather (Eric) Baggett, Alisa (Robert) Maloney, Nathan (Maegan) Daniels, Charlotte Carney and Hannah Daniels; great-grandchildren, Corbin Carney, Samantha & Sean Maloney and Connor Daniels.
A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held Saturday, March 22, 2025 at the Pataskala Church of Christ, 9132 Blacks Road, Pataskala, Ohio. Family and friends will gather from 10:00am until the time of the memorial service with a military service by the Licking County Veterans Alliance at 11:00am. A graveside service will follow in the Pataskala Cemetery, 9545 Creek Road, Pataskala, Ohio. The family extends an invite to the luncheon after services at the Pataskala Church of Christ.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Pataskala Church of Christ in Carl's memory.
