Carlos E. Snider, 79, of Thornville, passed away on Wednesday, April 16, 2014 at Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center in Columbus. He was born on July 4, 1934 in Fairfield County, son of the late Freeman and Edith (Woolard) Snider. He retired from Kroger Tamarack Dairy Plant after 21 years of service. Carlos was also a lifelong farmer who enjoyed the outdoors. He was a hard worker, a devoted Christian husband, father and grandfather.He is survived by his loving family: wife of 61 years, Wanda; five children: Jane Ann Benz-Miller, Wayne (Rhonda) Snider, Susan Snider, Phillip (Cheryl) Snider, and Juanita (Ron) Unkefer; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two sisters: Marguerite Cahill and Patricia (Max) Donahue; as well as many nieces and nephews.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Raymond, Freeman, Jr., and Richard; and three sisters, Blanche Rousculp, Freda Sheets, and Betty Mauk.A funeral service, celebrating Carlos life, will be held on Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. in the Oakthorpe Church, 6075 Oakthorpe Rd., NE, with Rev. Max Donahue and Mark Snider officiating. Burial will follow in Oakthorpe Cemetery.Friends may call on Monday, April 21, 2014 at the Thornville home of HOSKINSON Funeral and Cremation Service, 56 S. Main St., from 5 to 7 p.m. and again on Tuesday at the church, one hour prior to the funeral service.Memorial contributions, in Carlos memory, may be made to the Oakthorpe Church.
